2nd Floor Framing added

I received this photo from the builder last night - the 2nd floor framing is in now. On Monday (July 28th) the roof trusses will be delivered. The roof is scheduled to be added on August 4th.

Floor Joists added

The Floor joists have been added, and the framing is in around the windows and doors on the first floor. You can now see where all the windows and doors will be, and it is like watching the drawing come to life.

Starting to take shape - The Framing Begins

The framing of the house started this week, and so far all of the posts are up on the first floor. The hemlock tree was removed and gravel was laid in the area behind the house. This will be the future site of the garage, and will serve as a parking area until it is built. It also had to be created in order to give enough space for large trucks to turn around. We found out from our neighbour that a truck attempted to deliver the floor joists on Thursday but couldn't back up the driveway, so they will be coming back on Monday in a smaller truck.

This is a view from the West side. The large space is where a fireplace will be, flanked by 2 french doors.
